On September 28, 2021 Ecorys, on behalf of the European Commission, conducted the first of a series of training on Gender Equality Plans (GEPs).

On the 18^th of September, we celebrated the International Equal Pay Day. Established in 2019 by the United Nations General Assembly, this day remarks the continuous efforts at the international level to make the slogan “equal pay for equal work” a reality.

This concludes an extensive effort facilitated by SDU’s Gender Equality Team (GET) and the university’s central and local gender equality committees, which prior to the Executive Board’s stamp of approval have involved a number of councils and committees across SDU.

Our partner project, the Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv (PU) in Bulgaria, adopted its Plan for Equality between Women and Men for the period 2021-2024 with a decision from its Academic Council on June 7, 2021, then signed by the University Rector, Professor Rumen Mladenov, on July 1.

On 18 May 2021, the University Senate of our project partner University of Rijeka (UNIRI) in Croatia adopted its Gender Equality Plan (GEP) for the period 2021-2025.

We are pleased to announce that the RWTH Aachen University SPEAR team together with the German colleagues from the sister projects CHANGE and LeTSGEPs are organising a joint online conference to be held on 25 and 26 November 2021, with a kind contribution from our project partners at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and University of Rijeka (UNIRI).

The SeeRRI project has worked tirelessly for three years to find a framework that allows territories to put Responsible Research and Innovation principles at the core of their smart specialisation stratregy. 

Our partners, Vilnius University and Vytautas Magnus University, are organising online events on the 19th-20th of May 2021, dedicated to discussing process of designing and implementation of Gender Equality Plans (GEP) at Lithuanian institutions of higher education.

During a seminar on European Union & Social Innovation, four students from the HOCHSCHULE BONN-RHEIN-SIEG, University of Applied Sciences, made a presentation on SPEAR project and its key objectives and challenges.

On October 29^th, 2020 South-West University SPEAR team organized and held a joined workshop with Plovdiv University partner.
